An 11-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after his face was slashed in a horror dog attack.
The terrifying incident happened in Stevenage, Hertfordshire after the boy had been playing in fields off Chester Road and Canterbury Way.
The boy suffered injuries to his face and required hospital treatment after having his cheek bitten and scratched.
The dog is described as brown and medium in size.
Police are now urging witnesses to come forward after the attack which happened on July 27 at around 2.15pm.
PC Georgina Yeabsley from Hertfordshire Constabulary has encouraged anyone who saw the incident to contact officers.
“This incident happened in the middle of the afternoon during the school summer holidays when there were several other people on the fields who may have seen what happened,” she said.
“If you witnessed the incident or have information that could help us to identify the dog’s owner(s) please get in touch.”
